Here is the Gowns and Heels look at what will be hot in Spring-Summer 2015.
Designers such as Burberry and Gucci graced the catwalks with everyone’s staple material, paying particular attention to shades of indigo. Also featuring was hot new designer Faustine Steinmetz.
Without a doubt the biggest trend of SS15 will be Sportswear and this is where we see the mesh trend featured at it’s best. From top designers as Alexander Wang, DKNY and Milly, mesh won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you’re not brave enough to wear it alone layer it up with a vest in a contrasting colour to create texture and depth to an outfit.
From delicate, floaty chiffons to crisp, tailored jackets white is a key colour of SS15. we’re talking anything from the purest snowy white through to the ‘it’s been in the wash with a black load’ greying hue. designers featuring this trend were Coach, Alexander Wang and Tibi.
4. FAUX FUR
This is one of the more surprising trends of the season as it wouldn’t normally be a fabric associated with the warming weather. However, considering our climate is is actually a very practical choice and will allow us to have fun and add texture to our outfits. From the spring friendly pastel coloured coats at Coach to the star detail featured in Tommy Hilfiger there is something for everyone.
5. UTILITY POCKETS
Offering a chic, urban, utility style with front facing, large flapped pockets this style trend is the choice for school run mums! Maybe this is what inspired Victoria Beckham when she featured this in her runway show?
6. SPORTY FLATFORM SANDALS
Continuing the domination of sports style, the sporty flatform sandal offers a practical and comfortable footwear choice for the new season. DKNY showcased the trend with their glittery offering.
This is a trend that has been around for a while now. SS15 sees the continuation of this muted tone but DKNY offers a pop of colour clashing it with red, yellow and turquoise.
8. CONTRASTING COLLARS
SS15 will see collars in different colours to the rest of your outfit. Think black against pale grey, as seen at Lacoste or vivid colours paired with beige as seen at Victoria Beckham.
